No holiday is complete without a few shopping sprees! If you love shopping, you’ll love the Costa Brava. Indeed, shopping in the Costa Brava is an experience that you won’t want to miss, even if you don’t consider yourself a “hardcore” shopper.
From the small souvenir shops full of novelties in the fishing villages, to the large, bustling tourist strips, the Costa Brava offers a shopping experience for people of all walks of life.
Cozily situated within the narrow cobblestone streets, Costa Brava’s Vila Nova offers a plethora of restaurants, bars, shops and novelty stores. If you are a sucker for designer labels, make sure to check out the local name brand stores, where you can buy expensive name brand clothing and accessories for a fraction of the cost you would find else wear.
Another great place to find designer clothing is Barcelona, which also boasts the well known El Corte Ingles. Though this will take you more than an hour by car or bus, Barcelona is well worth the trip, just make sure you bring lots of spending money!
While you’re in Vila Nova, make sure to check out their now famous clothing shop, Pandora (made famous for it’s appearance in the 1951 film, “Pandora and the Flying Dutchman”). This clothing shop offers all sorts of local and traditional wear. Even if you aren’t planning on purchase anything, visiting Pandora is a great experience.
When you tire of Vila Nova’s laid-back ambiance, head over to the more mainstream Resort Lloret de Mar, where you’ll find a world class resort with streets packed with every sort of shop imaginable.
Shopping in the Costa Brava is a unique experience. As always, make sure you budget your spending money carefully beforehand, because like any good tourist trap, the Costa Brava will gladly trade you a few pieces of unique clothing for all the money in your pocket book!
